Directions for use

  • Daily dose: 2.5–5 g of product (1–2 measuring scoops), 1–2 times per day.
  • Maximum dose: 20 g of product per day.
  • Inside the bottle there is a measuring scoop of approximately 2 g.

PHGG (partially hydrolyzed guar gum) should be taken mixed with 100–150 ml of water, on an empty stomach. PHGG is a very versatile ingredient with fast dissolution and can also be added to shakes or smoothies without changing their taste, aroma, or texture.

For better homogenization, mix until the powder is completely dissolved.

The powder dissolved in water is colorless. During the course, adequate water intake is recommended.

It is important to start with a smaller amount (1/2–1 measuring scoop), then gradually increase the quantity after a few days or once any side effects disappear, until reaching the full dose.

Possible side effects of PHGG, although much rarer and milder than other fibers, may include abdominal discomfort, gas, diarrhea, and cramps, which usually subside as the intestinal flora adapts and balances.

Warnings

  • Individuals with serious medical conditions or those who have recently undergone surgery should consult a healthcare professional before using this product. In chronic conditions, it is recommended to take the product 2 hours after or 2 hours before administering medication.

PHGG (partially hydrolyzed guar gum) vs. guar gum used as a food additive

Although both are derived from the same plant seeds, PHGG – Sunfiber® and standard guar gum used as a food additive are completely different ingredients. Their manufacturing processes and applications differ significantly.

Simple guar gum is a polysaccharide obtained from Cyamopsis tetragonoloba seeds and is used mainly as a thickening and stabilizing agent in foods such as juices, ice cream, syrups, and certain sauces. Partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG), however, is produced through enzymatic hydrolysis of guar gum. Enzymes such as mannanase, pectinase, and cellulase act on the mannose-mannose bonds, breaking down the polysaccharide into low-molecular-weight galactomannans with low viscosity. The result is a unique prebiotic fiber that cannot be digested and is considered dietary fiber. As a prebiotic fiber, PHGG plays an important role in increasing probiotic bacteria (especially bifidobacteria and Streptococcus thermophilus) and balancing intestinal microflora.

PHGG ferments very slowly, helping prevent gas, bloating, or discomfort. In comparison, other prebiotic fibers (such as inulin) ferment rapidly and may cause excessive gas or bloating.
